Subscriptions
These settings let you control how customers can buy products, when they're charged, and how their payment methods are verified.
Allow duplicate product purchaseCopied!

If this setting is ON, customers can subscribe to the same product price multiple times

If this setting is OFF, customers can only have one subscription to a given product price.
Attempt payment before updating subscriptionCopied!

If this setting is ON, a subscription will only become active if the customer’s initial payment succeeds.

If this setting is OFF, the subscription becomes active even if the initial payment fails, and OpenPay will try to collect the payment later through dunning.
Default Authorization AmountCopied!
An authorization amount is a temporary hold placed on a customer’s card to verify that the payment method is valid. It is not an actual charge and will be automatically released. This is a recommended step to prevent fraudulent or invalid cards from being used.
This setting lets you define the default authorization amount by currency. For example, you might authorize $5.00 for transactions in USD and €10.00 for transactions in EUR.
If you do not want to authorize your customers’ cards, set the default authorization amount to $0.00.
Here’s an example in OpenPay - a customer starts a $800/month subscription with a 14-day free trial. Since they’re still in the trial period, they haven’t been charged yet, but a temporary $5.00 authorization hold was placed on their card to verify the payment method:
